It doesn't matter if you have one user or a thousand, Meier IT Pty Ltd has proven technologies and experience to deal with the situation.
With the advent of Hosted Virtual Desktops, standard applications can be run directly from the cloud giving organisations the ability to use the software from the internet.
Making the products as open to customisation as possible to give clients the ability to support the application in-house. Meier IT Pty Ltd is always ready to offer additional support if required.
Open systems so that data is not locked away in a propriety system. Data is stored in a clear and concise manner that can be viewed or used by other systems. Meier IT Pty Ltd products can connect to and use most database systems such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

With the above offerings, Meier IT Pty Ltd can provide your organisation with a low risk and solid software solution with low administrative overheads along with happy users.

Perhaps the best way to describe our work is to provide some examples. Below is a showcase of some of the products that have been developed over the years with a brief description and screen shots.

Support

Meier IT Pty Ltd is committed to providing timely, effective support to our products.

Support is available at an hourly rate, but a more formal service level agreement to guarantee support responses can be provided if required along with regular upgrades.

Population Modeller                     *** PIA Award Winner ***

This application gathers data from various sources such as GIS data, local government rating databases and centrally stored look up and configuration tables. The application uses this data to model both current residential and non-residential populations as well as future growth. Modelling is performed through a four-step wizard. The first step defines the area to be modelled such as suburbs, sewerage catchments or areas defined within a map. The second step allows the user to define groups on how the modelled data will be presented and the third step allows the user to select which time periods to model. Step four presents the resulting data in a grid similar to a spreadsheet. The grid has many customisable and analytical options and the user can drill down to show how and what data was used to generate the model. This data can also be easily transferred to a spreadsheet or GIS for further analysis. Another module of the application can show interim projections that can forecast population growth.

JLS - Job Logging System

The JLS application was developed to assist local authorities to keep track of capital, building and private works jobs. Jobs can be easily reported, searched and found through the easy to use job list. The application shows the current status of the job, important dates, location, incoming and outgoing files, design process details, construction details, maintenance & bonds, purchasing and QA document compilation.

WASP Add-on Suite

Meier IT Pty Ltd has written many add-ons for the WASP asset management system developed by EMS Solutions.

WASPSync - synchronises data between GIS mapping layers and data stored in the asset management system. Changes that occur to data within mapping layers will be recognised, matched and updated to data in the asset management system and vice versa. Information can be previewed prior to committing any changes and rules can be run to validate the data. Changed data can also be passed remotely between sites.
WASPVal - performs comprehensive valuations on all active and passive assets stored in the asset management system. WASPVal produces standard financial valuation data as well as sub-asset costs, tax costings, low pool values and subsidy spreads. The ultimate end result for WASPVal each year is to produce financial figures in customised spreadsheets to support financial statements. What once took months to accomplish can now be done with a few clicks of a mouse with the peace of mind that the data is correct.
WASPEdit - provides easy to use interfaces into the asset management that hone in on the business processes developed by an organisation. As a result data is better captured and validated in an efficient manner.

Council Mapper

This application provides an easy to use but powerful interface into an organisation's mapping data. The aim is for users with minimal GIS skills to be able to access and query mapping information quickly. Layers and themes can easily be viewed, queried and exported along with being able to produce professional-looking maps, atlases and reports. Council Mapper provides a good base for spatial add-ons that can be tailor-made to suit specific business tasks or processes. Add-ons include providing integration into asset management systems, automatic downloads of data for field computers, producing search reports (e.g. flooding, engineering, zoning, dial before you dig etc), defect logging of assets, customised data entry forms and CCTV asset viewing.

Council Mapper is a standalone application and uses MapInfo Professional (or Runtime) behind the scenes as the mapping engine to display and query the maps. Users do not require any MapInfo experience to use Council Mapper however for the more advanced users who are experienced in MapInfo Professional, Council Mapper also comes as a MapBasic application. This allows the MapInfo Professional user access to all the layers and themes, search functions, layouts templates and other useful features that Council Mapper uses.

WASA - Water and Sewerage Applications

The WASA system centrally manages all types of water and sewerage applications. The applications included in WASA are "Plumbing Applications", "Water Saving Rebates", "Works Orders", "New Water Connections", "Backflow Prevention Devices", "Replaced Water Meters", "Onsite Sewerage Manager" and "Septage Cartage". All applications include consistent ways of easily searching and filtering, entering data, generating correspondence and reporting.

CCTV - Map Viewer for Assets

This application takes CCTV information, joins it to a map and presents it in an easy to use interface. The CCTV information is captured through WinCAN software (www.wincan.com) which is used by outside staff in the field. The WinCAN software records information such as video, pictures, distances, defects, and asset identification number. This information can then be catalogued with "CCTV - Map Viewer for Assets" and will join the information recorded through WinCAN and link it to mapping data stored in MapInfo. CCTV Asset Viewer shows a map of the asset along with the position of the camera as the video is playing. Other features include being able to create mapping data derived from the CCTV information such as sewer house connections.

PMValuations

This application extracts infrastructure data from mapping layers and manipulates it to provide valuation information. Each mapping layer can be set up with valuation formulae, unit rates, useful lives, residual values, indices, vision values and data checks. As well as generating valuation data, PMValuations value adds to this data by providing modules to perform budget allocating, visionary costings and exports to various standard engineering models such as NAMS and Maloney. Once a valuation has been finalised at the end of financial year, it can be committed back to the mapping layer for future reference.

GDA Converter

GDA Converter is a program specially designed to convert MapInfo files from the old Australian Geodetic Datum (AGD) to the new Geocentric Datum of Australia (GDA). Originally written by Peter Meier while working as a sole trader, the program is commercially available through the original website at www.petermeier.com.au. A comprehensive description and a trial download is available.
